If you have read my previous submissions, you know I follow politics and offer assessments based on my observations.  Over the last few days the controversial, but always entertaining candidacy of Mr. Graham Platner lost viability.  This loss of viability is based on several serious allegations which came to a head when Politico posted a story alleging that Mr. Platner sexually assaulted a former girlfriend.  The fallout has been predicable.  Mr. Platner posted an 11 minute video in which he stated his plans to withdraw from the Maine Senate race.  He reiterated his claim that all the allegations against him are false, and the Democrat Party and the Media as part of “a corporate media system and the political establishment got to act as judge, jury, and executioner.”  In fact, Mr. Platner spent most of his video blaming everyone for his troubles and taking no accountability for his alleged actions and offering no cogent defense or explanation other than his statement that “This is all false,” and “The things that have been claimed did not happen. It’s not real”.

To be fair to Mr. Platner, political scandal and last minute accusations of misconduct are not new.  Political candidates have long been the targets of false accusations designed to derail their campaigns and change the outcomes of elections. 

This is all just background to lay the foundation for what I really want to talk about.  We all know that for good or ill, our 24 hour news coverage is divided by political bias.  In this case, as Mr. Platner was a Democrat Party candidate, he enjoyed favorable coverage from those news outlets that typically support Democrat Candidates.  Mr. Platner had obstacles from the beginning of his campaign.  One of the most well known was the Totenkopf tattoo.  Mr. Platner had on his chest a tattoo of the Nazi Totenkopf, a death’s head symbol used by the Waffen Schutzstaffel (SS).  He claimed he had no knowledge of what it meant other than as a symbol of Marine Corps sniper culture.  I find that a bit difficult to believe having served in the military myself in the combat arms.  We were all aware of what Nazi insignia looked like, and the Totenkopf was no exception.  To be fair, MSNBC covered the tattoo controversy, but the willingness of the left to ignore the issue was best articulated by Senator Sanders who said “We don’t have enough candidates in this country that will take on the powers that be and fight for the working class.”  It is this thought process that helped make Mr. Platner the darling of the Democrat Party and allowed that party to gloss over his shortcomings.  They desperately needed (and still need) a populist candidate who can successfully challenge the status quo, so they took Mr. Platner’s word that there were no more “surprises”.  Sadly, there were and here we are. 

Now to the crux of the issue – the left leaning media spent months proclaiming Mr. Platner’s virtues, his fitness as a candidate, and generally supporting the Democrat Party narrative.  Not surprisingly, and properly so, the narrative changed when the latest allegations of sexual misconduct emerged.  The truth of the allegations notwithstanding, Mr. Platner has become unelectable.  This is not surprising.  What is surprising is that left leaning reporters and pundits are now claiming that Platner’s “no” was not  “100% convincing.”   The implication here is that they “knew” the whole time that he was perhaps not telling the whole story.

This is directly out of the same playbook they used when news of President Biden’s mental decline became undeniable after his disastrous performance in the Presidential debate against then candidate Donald Trump.  They spent months defending President Biden’s mental state, but that all changed after he left the race, Vice President Harris ran, and lost to Donald Trump. 

In both cases they declared vehemently that they were not told the truth, that they had done their jobs, but that in the backs of their minds, they “knew” something was not right.

This. Is. Laughable.  These people are dedicated and wedded to their desired political outcome to the point that they either overlook the obvious or openly lie about the truth in order to elect the candidates they prefer.  Only when the party line shifted was it considered “safe” to speak about what they “knew” all along.  This blame shifting and refusal to either admit that they were bamboozled or explain why they didn’t report the “truth” when they knew it is classic deflection. 

Don’t believe me simply because I say so, check the sources for yourself.  Think for yourself – Do not rely on these buffoons, because they are only worried about their own agendas and covering their own backsides.
